Abigail Holmes

PhD Candidate, History and Philosophy of Science, University of Notre Dame

I specialize in philosophy of cosmology and astrophysics. My dissertation research focuses on the Hubble tension, and how cosmic distance, expansion, and acceleration are measured, validated, and used in cosmological model testing. I also have research interests in nonstandard cosmological models, dark matter, and simulations in astrophysics.

I have also done research in politics of science. Primarily, I am interested in how 'platform science' and open science are transforming how scientists work, and further enabling corporate interests to shape science.
